30th Birthday and a day at PCAS

I turned 30! :))))

It was M's birthday a few days before me and we just had a simple celebration for him.
A bucket of chicken joy (free from BPI lolz) and our fave donut.
Then came saturday with my family, we had a simple lunch feast and merienda.

For our celebration, I just wanted a simple and meaningful one so we booked a visit PCAS (Paws and Claws Animal Sanctuary) in Bulacan. We brought some donations and also our cake to share with their staff. I'm also very excited to see our sponsored dog Vino ( they changed his name to Leo) but the name "Vino" already stuck in my mind.

The sanctuary:
The long roof in the left side is for the dog's kennels and the right one is the cattery.

Vino's kennel

The dogs kennels are very spacious. Some dogs are in cage because they have conditions and need to be isolated..

sick puppies guarded by a duck

This puppy named Aki, is roaming free :)

In the cattery...

cats' names

this one wants me to carry her :)

very malambing one

The staff are very accommodating. They even bought softdrinks and sang "Happy Birthday" for us :)
This is ate rachel holding Vino. Special thanks also to kuya Erwin, kuya Eddie, kuya nestor and ate jenny ( I hope I remembered their names correctly)

Vino is such a fluffy and beautiful dog.

Snowbell met Vino :)

I do hope that they walk every single dog outside of their kennels to minimize the need to clean the kennels everyday. We were not able to bring some cleaning materials, I think they need a lot of those - detergents, gloves, sponge, garbage bags etc.

I would say, it was a nice, inspiring and opening experience for me.
It was a great stress reliever and I felt ready to take on the week.
It inspired me to be more, to give more.

Seriously, even if we don't have the means to adopt a pet for now, we can sponsor, donate or volunteer. This kind of non profit organization relies heavily on donations so we really need to help them so they can also help a lot of furry friends.

Kiddie Party at Teresa Orsini Homes

my niece turned 2 and we celebrated her birthday at Teresa Orsini homes.
I love her DIY sweet buffet arranged by her mom and I was surprised that even the food buffet were all home-cooked.  Good job to all of them. :)

Special guest..... Jollibee!!!

Some games..

Lolz these letters (Dear Happy Birthday???)

Celebrant wishlist: adult diapers, foods, cleaning materials and school supplies for the kids.

It was a great feeling seeing those kids very happy with the event, games, Jollibee and giveaways.
I asked one little girl where's her mom, she answered "nakakulong po". Aww sad reality...

Teresa Orsini Homes is located in Muntilupa, which is a home for the elderly and children, they also accept elderly paying clients who wish to stay here for retirement. I told M, when we get old, there's no problem with me staying in this kind of place because I don't need to worry about household chores. I just don't know how much one need to pay to stay here.

Lent 2014

How's your  looong weekend?

I was able to eat some of my favorite foods while staying in Laguna: Veggies, Ginataan Bilobilo, Laing, Champorado, Pancit ...

I also bought some  fish hotdog in the supermarket, in fairness it taste like hotdog naman

Snowbell stayed in M's house so someone was happy to have my attention  =)

Last Friday, we watched the traditional Siete Palabras (7 Last Words) on TV and the movie Son of God.

At the beginning of the movie, it feels like watching some modern movie because of great effects and powerful soundtrack that I immediately googled when it has been shown, I'm not aware that this was released only Feb of this year.

I am surprised actually that this turned out to be a very good , inspirational movie adaptation.

They portrayed the image of Jesus that I imagined when I read the bible who looks very, very kind.
Even the scene in the temple where He overturned the table of the money changers and vendors - He doesn't look furious or extremely angry. In other movie adaptations, they portrayed this scene with madness.

This movie also has their own interpretation of other scenes in the bible but I would say it is well thought of and it gave me a wider understanding of those scenes.

If you haven't watched this, I guaranteed that it will make you glued to your seat from start to end even you already know how the story will unfold. =)
