Movies and Eats: Terminator, Masuki

Fans like me would probably feel the same nostalgic feeling while watching this movie Terminator Genisys. Arnie is now old period. But I still want to see him in his Terminator role so when I first saw the trailer and felt like pinagpilitan lang yung movie eh? hehehe, but still it was one of my awaited movie for this year.

It was a good movie. I can't help but become emotional on some scenes, reminiscing my childhood fave actor and movie. Batang 90s lang. I'll never get tired hearing his "I'll be back" line. :)
On the other hand, they were able to get a Sarah Connor look alike but the Kyle guy? sino ba yun?

It was a rainy sunday so our late lunch fits the weather.
Chicken Mami (130) and Special Asado Siopao (85) from Masuki :)
Their mami still has that weird smell and taste hehehe but it's their siopao that is really a hit.
So big and the lots of asado fillings, it also comes with lots of asado sauce that you can also pour into your mami. yum2x!

Happy week ahead!

Movie Review: Looper

With 90+% rating from Rotten,we have high expectations for this movie.
Not that bad really but not an epic one.
This is a futuristic setting movie with time travel concept.
*Somewhat Spoiler* I also remember Naruto vs Pain episodes "Circle of Hatred" concept.

Well, we don't really like the unnecessary drama focus and intimate scenes, (this is R-16 btw) how could they add love scenes like that without so much art, eh? so common, If they made it to a fast paced movie with really great music maybe I'll like it.

But overall, still Ok, as a fan of Bruce Willis, it's good to see him again ^_^
When I first heard about this movie I thought it is not convincing for Gordon-Levitt to play the young Willis (aside from the fact that he looks patpatin!). Well, thanks to movie touch ups.

Watched @ Podium, (^_^) and oh, saw the Hansel & Gretel trailer, looks great BUT ehem ehem ;p

'til next movie trip

Movie Review: Resident Evil Retribution

I love the  RE movies, esp. the first 2, the 3rd and 4th was good but left me with kinda lonely-ish  feeling. For the 5th installment,  I suggest watching it in 2D na lang bec. not enough eye popping scenes for 3D naman.
Nevertheless, Resident Evil' movies are all awesome. I will never get tired of Alice even if the series goes on until forever haha!

So the RE 5 starts with a jaw-dropping scene (yes napa-nganga ako sa uber ganda!) And you know that feeling when you thought that it will be the finale, mixed joy and sadness,  so I really tried to watch without blinking lolz!

My favorite would be the fighting action scene in tokyo/umbrella hallway was just awesome to the nth level that I want to enroll in some karate/krav maga/ boxing lesson or whatever as long as I can kick like a badass.

Another thing I love in RE movies is that Alice is kinda emotional when it comes to her friends,  you don't feel that the story is empty. (ah basta ganun!Would have been better if Ada Wong looks fierce though (she looks maamo) and Jill Valentine's hair is black.

so cool, awesome, lahat na!

*spoiler alert* can't wait for next! pwede bang wala na lang katapusan?!

happy and excited!  \(≧∇≦)/

Movie Review: Expendables 2

Last Thursday night mike flew me to Eastwood City haha, we were a bit worried that we cannot make it to the 11PM show, but we did! thanks to his superb driving skills lolz, we got our tix at around 10:40, bought our movie food from Mcdo (hello large fries!) and just in time for the trailers \^_^/

And oh before that clickthecity posted that Eastwood Mall has 11PM showing time but in EastwoodCity FB page and Twitter it was 10PM  that I had to text them to confirm, thank you EastwoodCity for a quick reply that it is 11PM indeed.

Source

We've been waiting for this movie as Expendables 2 is a dream team! My fave action stars complete and of course my ultimate favorite of all, Arnold, is back!

I love how they include their characters/lines where they are known for, you can relate if you've watched their previous movies, I don't want to spoil, all I can say it is a full action (as in to the nth level),  morbid, comedy and has a bit of drama. I soooooo love this movie! Chuck Norris too, FTW! Plus Van Damme was a really scary, perfect villain

we went home laughing and I'm still having a hangover up to now that I searched for my old high school diary , haha yes i'm a fangirl !  (≧◡≦)

Too bad I lost my wallet where I have a newspaper cut out of Bruce Willis in his Armageddon suit. ;p  Oh Armageddon I remember I was sad for a week because of that!  I think I have watched their films in VHS that are available at the Video City near our house (Arnold, Bruce Willis, Van Damme and Stallone) ooh childhood memories

And oh my new fave Statham, just WOW,  his fighting scenes were suuuperrr cool esp in that outfit ala Assasin's Creed fight (ang peg)

I just love this movie that I can watch it over and over again!
Expendables 3 please!

Hope you are all having a happy and lovely weekend!

Movie Review: The Amazing Spiderman

from wikipedia
Last Friday June 29, mike and I watched Amazing Spiderman at Robinsons Galleria, 11:30 in the morning before going to work wehehehe (di naman kmi excited noh)
but of course I have to stay until 11PM at work  to make up for the time :)
We just don't like to waste time waiting for hours in  lines (like in Avengers) so early morning screening would be the best.

Movie Review: Avengers

As much as possible, we really like watching movie in Eastwood Cinema  and Podium too (my fave!)  but based on experience in Eastwood, for a superhero/kid friendly movie there'll be a chance to be seated with a babbling, all-knowing, noisy kid :/

Podium on the other hand would be jam-packed for sure (2 cinemas only) that I wouldn't risk sitting beside someone who loudly slurps their drink -_-

Next choice - Robinsons Galleria. I don't remember someone sat beside us everytime we watch movie in here :)  They have 10 cinemas and I don't have anything bad to say on the quality :)

And so we brave watching Avengers on its opening day after work.

mike would be coming from makati so I went ahead and bought our tickets that took me one hour in line! I stood there for an hour (but I'm not complaining :) it just the feeling of imagining someone would announced that tickets were sold out already (noooo!))

I was surprised that our tickets are handwritten LOLz. I got the 8:40 time. It was 7:30 already, mike was still stuck in traffic and I thought of checking out Cinema 9.

As expected there's already a line for 8:40!!! So I thought of staying there instead of going somewhere and forever loose my hopes of getting the front seats. mike arrived past 8 while I was busy amusing myself by reading ebooks.

So finally after a long wait, movietime! We seated in front and no one sat beside us weeeee!

And all I can say is that we enjoyed the movie, mixed emotions here and there, and amazed again by Loki and Thor.  I do really wish they put a mask on J.Renner! what an awful acting!

Still Avengers is epic!!! What a night :)

John Carter and Magnum Truffle Sunday

My ever loving mike treated me to a movie date last night complete with our fave Piattos chips ^_^

The movie is a mix of comedy, action adventure and touching story,  though I find Lynn Colins bulky for the princess role (but I like her) and the fact that I sometimes feel heavy and lonely with the very deep imagination of the author (maybe I'm just weird)  And we would have a perfect movie experience if not for the annoying noisy kid behind us grrrr
Source

I find it way better than the much hype Avatar. I mean, Avatar.. haller!!! @_@
Andrew Stanton directed John Carter, who also directed Wall-E, Finding Nemo to name a few
as Gambit
Source
With Taylor Kitsch ever mysterious look (that I noticed since his Gambit role in XMen Origins), I hoped to see more of his film ^_^ They said there will be a sequel for John Carter! ^_^

I remember some of the trailers, my excitement died for Avengers (bec Jeremy Renner is ewww) and for Spiderman (bec I dont like the way they styled Andrew Garfield) but still I have to see both of them on big screen :p
The Wrath of Titans trailer looks promising but I'm afraid it'll be like Clash of Titans that lacked emotion.

And when I thought  Magnum Truffle were already sold out everywhere... 7-eleven at Eastwood City Walk still have stocks :) I think this taste good than the other 2 flavors(classic and almond).  I would normally go for coned ice cream like Cornetto than the one in popsicle because I find them messy to eat, speaking of which, I haven't tried Cornetto disc!

Whew I can feel the summer!  Happy Sunday!

1.28.2012

HayWire, Nachofast, Johnny Rockets

Thanks for my bunchkin for the fridate treat at Eastwood City ^_^

We were way too early for the movie time so we ate our movie snacks while waiting ;p

Nacho Combination Php170

Watched Haywire. Gina Carano looks like Xena (the warrior princess =D ) BUT BUT nothing beats my Angelina Jolie and this is not even comparable to Wanted or Salt.
The movie was OK at first (fast pace, believable fight scene, tense and nice plot) but then... it just ended like .... eh?
This movie made me search self defense video in youtube ;p

Johnny Rockets afterwards

Mike's verdict: HID burger is better
Original Burger and Chocolate Milkshake Php511

Happy Weekend!

JAW DROPPING Movie FTW!!!  I love the slow-mo pursuit scene!
Thanks to my hon for the treat!

And lastly watched the latest One Piece episode when we got home =)

Thanks everyone for the greetings especially FB friends. I'm not into facebooking lately. It's really heartwarming that near and far far away friends still take time to greet. ^_^

Happy gal ^_^  Thank God!

Movie: Real Steel

Unplanned.
Last week of showing?
I knew this movie has a lot of good reviews but I'm not excited to watch this because I don't like Hugh Jackman in The Prestige

*Rolled eyes*

Friday = stressful in work.. depressing too.
Thanks to my honeybunch who insisted to watch, a quick escape to reality.

This is the movie that you'll feel all the emotion
- roll your eyes on corny scene
- drop jaw on cool scene
- laugh
- smile
- ahhh sad
- as expected
- what will happen?
- sheeeeshhh

- hangkyutt!

May i share the cutest?

I'm glad we watched this awesome movie, I'm back to normal.  ;))))))

7.02.2011

Movie: Transformers 3

Perfect Time: First screening of the day at 1PM on its opening day last wednesday = Few people, no one sat besides us so no "noisy eating" seatmate. ;) I hate those who eat their food noisily and drink with that loud slurrrrping sound ><

So what can I say about this movie?

At the very start, i'm not expecting a lot from this, aside from the fact that Megan Fox was replaced, plot is always confusing ever since the first movie. I don't care about the story as a whole 'coz the effects were great, it just these two things irritated me:
1. over focused scene on that falling building while the main cast were inside (long scene yet not very thrilling, duh)
2. carly still look clean after all that rolling, crawling, etc etc  O_o

'butt vs bunny scene conversation'
Jewel: If I'm a guy, that butt scene is not even 'eye-popping'
Mike: Yeah, it will be eye-popping for me if they reattached the bunny in the end
haha!

@Greenbelt 3 cinema, 06/29 1:15-4PM (way too long!), Thanks for my honey for the snack treat at NYFD, fries pesto dip was so good!

XMen First Class Movie Review

Mike bought na sa eastwood nung umaga for 840PM. He even bought Piattos na sa shopwise pero nalimutan naman niya dalhin haha! So sa 7eleven na lang kami bumili

Movie time with our favorite chichirya plus Sola ICed tea = Yey! Kaya lang I need to exchanged seat with mike parang may tumutulo sa bubong ng cinema! Grrr! not so eastwood image... We thought to watch GreenLantern na lang Shangrila (di pa namin nattry dun) Podium and Eastwood loyalist kmi kaya lang binibigo na nila kami  ;(

Movie is great! I'm on Magneto side hehe
That mystique actress looks familiar, (Renee Zelwegger look alike eh?)
We stayed afterwards waiting for the aftercredits scene pero wala naman. ;(

5.21.2011

Pirates of the Carribean Stranger Tides

Bought tickets during my lunchbreak pa for 930PM showing, excited eh
Ok na sana, ang masasabi ko lang panira ang dalawang ito hmf, ang tagal ng focus, agaw eksena totally!!

At antagal ng inintay namin for after credits scene na parang 'yun lang un?!' >.<

X-Men soon!

5.01.2011

Thor Movie

Muntik na namin malimutan after credits!!!

Watched last Friday at Podium
Di na kami manonood sa Podium hmp! nagstop ba naman hmp! actually sa eastwood din eh, naexperience na namin un, sayang ganda pa naman ng sounds at screen sa podium. masarap umupo sa front.

4.26.2011

Movie: Suckerpunch

Ganda! Fave ko si Rocket! she's so astig, sweet pea too, kaya sad nung ________ ;) Wala naman akong pakialam sa story haha basta maganda ang rendering! di bagay hay vanessa hudgens, siya lang ung nagmukhang amazona. ;p

Watched at Podium. (^_^)

Movie: Limitless

Oh another unplanned movie we watched
Bakit di ko ito nakikita sa trailer? Maganda siya in fairness!!! Action Thriller, mabilis ang pangyayari, SweetPea from SuckerPunch is there, I so like her  ;)
Gusto ko din ng NZT to meet my deadlines >.<
Napadownload tuloy ako ng sudoku para maexercise ang aking brain haha!

4.03.2011

Source Code Movie

Unplanned movie :) Watched in Glorietta
ang slow ko di ko nagets ung ending haha!
Rating in rotten is high! 90%!

Bagay kay Jake ung role, super.

Ang pangit lang dito ung title, as in. (in a software developer sense, walang kadating dating after you watch it)

Eat,Pray,Love event

Special screening of Eat,Pray, Love @ SM MEgamall Cinema 6. (Sponsored by :Century Tuna, Goya and Selecta)
My review of the movie? Pretty boring... Nung andun pa lang sa Italy, we're like, "waahhh antagal meron pa sa India at Bali!!!!" Nung nasa India na, "arggg may Bali pa!" For the story, hmmm I think Liz problem is herself, divorcing while not giving her husband a chance nor telling him why she's feeling hurt... she's just the one making her life complicated for the rest of the story.

But anyway, thanks for the snacks. Ice cream,
