Weekend: Edible Gumamela

My mom prepared this salad, I thought it was so girlaloo with all the flowers. then she told us it is edible. Really?!  It is somewhat slimy and taste like lettuce. I googled it and turns out  Hibiscus or Gumamela appears to have anti-inflammatory properties and rich in antioxidants. :)

First time to try this cassava cake from Lety's Buko Pie Store. It is very filling because it is very thick and not very soft, I like that it is also not overly sweet :)

Weekend with the family, simple celebration for tita's bday.
I missed eating pancit with a lot of squid balls and my fave 'kaong' in buko salad ;p

Bridal Sparty at Pink Me Up

Last week, we surprised our colleague with a sparty for her bridal shower. 

I suggested Pink Me Up as there are lots of great blog reviews I've read and 

it looks pretty in blog photos too. 

Lookie!

 The place is indeed pretty and soo girlaloo! It is not that big and can accomodate only up to 10-12?  The nice thing here also is that you can borrow some of party items like plates and utensils.

They ordered Pesto Pasta from Aveneto = it was really great! yum2x!

The chicken wings were from Sunrise Buckets -  the bride's fave

mini cupcakes from Bella Cupcakes Manila, and oh so wow, I ate a lot of cupcakes that night! 

I love their red velvet!

I have no idea of the group's plan actually, for  food, desserts, decorations, games, souvenirs and everything. I was surprised how everything turned out well. They were very creative. The food spread was presented really nice, I would just like to look at it.  If only I had my phone with me (toinks! how did I forget it!!!)  

After we ate and played games, we had our hand spa, foot spa and mani, pedi. I think I was the only one who availed the complete package and one of us did not even finish her hand spa because we still have final activity for the bride. 

I opted for a silver/grayish polish :)

Overall, we all had a hilarious and wonderful night :)

My 27th birthday

 Feels like and looks like  I'm not 27 ;p

Last Sunday, we had a simple celebration at home for mike  (jan 4) and advanced for me (jan8)

pancit lucban with lots of vinegar  (simply the best nomnomnom)

Mike has been spoiling me lately,  bought me ube cake, got a copy of House of silk,  treated me a Yellow cab Dear darla pizza , how sweet?

At work,  they "surprised" me with this creative cake ;p 

  Brazo mercedes topped with mini cupcakes that says happy birthday, it was funny that they thought I'm not inside the room so I heard all their  preparation ;)

My bday dinner with mike, at Explorers Lounge Podium after work which I'll be writing about next,

and we stayed a bit at Starbucks ortigas home depot afterwards.

I am touched by all the greetings and lovely birthday wishes , a massive thanks to y'all.

I was asked by my boss "So, are you wiser?" (which I first heard as "are you huaweiser?" because we're talking about Huawei device before that (lolz!!!) so I stared at him blankly, repeating the question in my head and finally asked "uhm what do you mean?"), "Wiser, now that you're 27, did you become wiser?"   and because I don't have prepared answer and just want to end the conversation before my nose bleed I just said "uhm ah...i don't feel I'm 27" (ano daw?haha)   

Anyway, it is a good question to ask ourselves as we get a year older each year. Of course, I would love to say Yes I'm wiser generally,  but I'll pond over this thought starting now so I can tell  what areas specifically. hehe wuttt im sayin ba? O_o
