Recent Eats: Longganisa Sorpresa, Aysee

I know there are a lot of food establishments to try at kapitolyo yet we haven't tried any of them, O_o
so this will be the first of our kapitolyo food trip fridate :)

My breakfast lover bf suggested to try Longganisa Sorpresa

Nakakasorpresa ang serving size! ;p

But then I guess that's ok, bec. these types of longganisa (recado) are very flavorful and tasty, just enough for the rice

This Adobong Kangkong doesn't taste like adobo, but that's fine with me, (basta may gulay lang) ;)

Vigan Longganisa w/ Iced Tea (P150), Alaminos (P99), Adobong Kangkong (P50) Plus 8% Charge Total bill of P322

Btw, they also sell frozen longganisa.

Few spaces for parking, but we noticed that parking is also allowed across the street.

The next day, Saturday we were in Tiendesitas, we hope to try Three Sisters Pancit but we are told that it is not available, so then I bought from Pancit ng TagaMalabon, while M bought from Aysee, I told him they are famous for their Pork Sisig (P130) , he said it was just ok.

I love anything pancit , maybe bec I grew up eating pancit more than spag ;p

Oblivion, Kanzhu

after jcuppacakes, movie time!

Oblivion setting is post war, inhabitable future earth where Tom Cruise as Jack maintain the area with his mission partner Viktoria. Memory erased prior to mission,  the story then unfolds what is it that haunts him from his past and what he is unaware of.

The story has the same effect on me when I watched Evangelion, Voices of a Distant Star or any space, futuristic anime related film. That sad, lonely feeling as you are separated from your love one with space and time, in addition to uncertain future...something like that.

The actress who played Victoria did a very good job in capturing her character emotions that I became her instant fan ;p I googled and found in IMDB, she won best actress awards in the past, oh thats why.
While she cries easily, the one who played Julia took some time to cry I find her boring despite her expressive face.

Overall, it was a brilliant story and was also nice seeing this movie in big screen because of the special effects/ amazing CGI, although I have to roll my eyes for the love story, yep love story/ scifi action, anyway that's needed naman ;p

And of course, it's a Tom Cruise film, seriously, he seems to be forever good looking  and young.  :)

Kanzhu Hand-Pulled Noodles

Afterwards, we had our early dinner at Kanzhu Hand Pulled noodles in SM Hypermarket.
They served huge servings of noodles so we just shared one bowl and ordered siopao.
I just ate the siopao bun, mike said the filling is just ok. As for the noodles, we were both impressed, whatever herb/spices they use, it taste simple and natural. :)

free sweet peanuts

PS: I forgot to write about GI:Joe we saw weeks ago, breath taking action it was. :)  We intended to see Olympus too last weekend, if ever it'll be morgan freeman overload  lolz, but we're informed it wasn't that nice. hmmmm...
Anyway, I'm excited and hoping to see Ironman 3 next week... lots of good movies this summer!

Ma Chicken Mami House at FunRanch Pasig

Finally got to try this resto, saw this from January and also when we tried Chucks Grub earlier this month.
I would say their price a bit steep bec of few servings P90+ for each meal plus siopao at P50+ (not that big)
Well, mike liked his rice w/ kikiam, not your usual kikiam, their original chicken mami taste like sopas but still perfect for gloomy weather

and just realized our payong...

Umbrella Corporation! ;p

Happy Long Weekend!
(even though it's not applicable for me..)
but we'll have holidays next week... can't wait to see our furry friends and eat real home cooked meals!

Chuck's Grub

Chuck's Grub at Fun Ranch Pasig (1st time at Fun Ranch!
We got a discount voucher from Ensogo ^_^

Shrimp popcorn w/ fries

Full Monty and fries
I can't taste the differences between the 4 types of fish, they were all soft ^_^
The vinegar dip does not go well with the fish as compared to Garlic and Ranch which was really good. I also ordered "Just Chips" Php 50 , which turned out to be french fries so we're having a hard time finishing all the fries lolz!

Po Suk Jung

Happy Valentines day!

Today is just a regular working day for us... will spend til 12MN in the office  (True Story)
Busy as a bee always so we both agreed to have our simple pre-valentines date last Sunday :)

It was drizzling a bit that Sunday afternoon,  after carefully checking out the map before we left, mike  still made a wrong turn on our way to Po Suk Jung ;p ,which is located in Oranbo Pasig, a street after Ynares Sports Center if coming from Shangrila.

We were surprised to see a  resto like this hidden in the busy city of Pasig.

The place is quiet large and has ample parking space

Mostly spicy appertizers, their kimchi is good :)

Must try Japchae! Mike and I both agreed that this is just yummy :) Serving is good for two
Greens to go with the Sam gyub sal (grilled pork belly) below

I also had fun taking his pics ;p

It was not yet dark when we left, we thought of passing by Pan de Manila for our snack later that day.We bought pandesal and tried their new "Bananamon" =D

Last night I received this from him :) , one of the chocolates I like  = Dark Toblerone (which I'm munching on while writing this)

And from my boss, Ms. Ellen :)

Again Happy Valentines Day!

I know there are folks out there who call this commercialized or overrated day.
These post in twitter I saw last weekend is a good read. (thanks for darlene for sharing) I like what is written there because that is also what I believe:

"We celebrate the harvest. We celebrate the spring. We celebrate birthdays and death-days and the beginning of the year and the end of the year. We celebrate our parents and labor and Presidents. What in the world is so terribly wrong with celebrating love? I know not all of us have partners, but it is a rare soul who is without love of any kind. What kind of shrunken, sour heart does it take to insist that everyone else stop delighting in ritual and love? "
