Balik Bukid at Sta Elena Fun Farm

As I said in my previous post, I wanted to share a few more photos of our day at Sta. Elena fun farm.

We were there as early as 9:30 AM :)

I think it was my first time to see ducklings paddling their little feet underwater. how cute.

There are ducks, rabbits and chickens on the loose.

cutie rabbits!
we  also saw some pigs, horses, hamsters and even snake

The maintenance staffs were wearing filipiniana and katipuneros outfit.

There are more to see out there but we easily get tired so we rested for a bit after we checked all the stalls for n times and bought mango shake.

I discovered a lot of brilliant eco-friendly and healthy products.

I tasted the "Going Bananas" from SundreamPH today and it was chewy but very filling.

Interesting solid perfume from Aromateria at P250. I wanted to buy the one with 'Sherlock' print on it, only that the scent is too strong for me.

Review: Malagos Chocolate

I preferred the dark bitter chocolates now - it does not make me feel guilty bec they are high in antioxidants, not loaded with sugar and other additives.

I bought Malagos in a food fair some weeks ago and bought the Unsweetened chocolate at P120 and the 65% dark at P130.

"Our tableyas are hygienically molded from pure chocolate liquor (thick, liquid chocolate paste) ground from our roasted fermented beans, and vacuum-sealed in food-grade plastic envelopes.

We do not alkalize (or Dutch) our chocolate liquor (which will artificially darken the color and produce a richer taste) as this process will materially diminish the antioxidant content of any cacao product.

..our tableyas have nothing removed from them, and nothing added to them. They are real, dark chocolate in their raw, untreated, and healthily beneficial form. "  - From their website:

A pack contain about 15-16 pcs if I remember it correctly.

I used 2-3 pcs when I made champorado and then coco sugar as a sweetener

I like the packaging of their chocolate bar, great for gift giving.

I remember to take a photo when we already consumed half of it. ;p
I love the smooth texture and bitter after taste. :)

These are available online at giftfarm,ph and at the ff stores:
Chocolate Lover, QC
Cooks Exchange - Megamall, Rockwell, Glorietta

Healthy Inspiration: What I'm Loving Lately

I haven't shared some healthy inspiration post for a while eh?

Just wanna share some of what I discovered lately...

Adobong Broccoli!

I never thought broccoli would taste that good - adobo style, soft  and juicy!

Greek Yogurt
Hacienda Macalauan Greek Yogurt - available in SM Supermarket (how convenient!)
But a bit pricey compared to Rizal's Dairy Farm at Php185

Mrs. May Cashew Nuts with sesame seeds
I also love their walnut variety
(also available in SM Supermarket)

Nutsyriya Mushroom Chips from a colleague
available in Podium (bazaar like area in the 3rd floor if I remember)

Strawberry smoothies
I feel like I don't get enough antioxidant in my diet so I'm trying to add berries in my smoothies.
It tastes good and creamy smooth with bananas :)
If only they are not a bit pricey, I could have them everyday..hmm maybe I should go to Baguio and hoard hehe ;p

Happy weekend and stay healthy!

Easter Weekend and a new Recipe

Back home in Laguna means "home cooked meals!".
Because I went home only on weekend, I was able to taste only a spoonfuls of Ginataang Bilo2x ;(

For both Saturday and Sunday, we had grilled fish and veggies.

Red Rice

Beating the summer heat with halo halo while watching movies.

Pinoy breakfast :)

I had a sleepover on thurs and fri with a colleague and they served me a yummy Potato and Beets Salad.

Back home, I made my own version with boiled camote :)

Boiled Sweet Potato (Camote) Salad

Ingredients:  Boiled Kamote, Raw Carrots, Pineapple, Mayo, salt season accdg to your taste
Chop and mix everything. Refrigerate before serving :)

It is so tempting to buy ice cream with our extremely hot weather but i guess I will just chill myself eating sweet potato salad again

Sandwich Inspiration

I've mentioned in my post here that I ate sandwiches for some weeks ago because of my busy sched.

Aside from my malunggay Peanut Butter , i was able to try Filippo Berio Classic Pesto and Sundried Tomato Pesto. (After taking a lot of time going around and reading labels @ SM supermarket)  They are good compliment for egg, tofu or lettuce, at Php120+ only per bottle ^_^

Joji's Delight Peanut Butter with Malunggay

I thought I'd share my newest discoveries ;)

I have had a very busy month that I don't have much time to prepare/cook healthy foods, still managed to squeezed in making 'healthy' sandwiches. I think I consumed mostly sandwiches for the past weeks, not eating rice for lunch and dinner. I suddenly felt symptoms of Iron deficiency so I decided to take supplements. I used to take Centrum before (rarely),  this time I want something herbal/natural. I'm now taking Carica's Malunggay Capsule. I would try to share a separate post about its wonder, soon.

One day, even though I knew about the healthy benefits of Malunggay, I still searched the net to read more about it and that's when I stumbled on Joji's delight after clicking on some links here and there..
