Pipino @ Malingap St


 We dined here with the lil bro when we were in QC :)

The resto is small and intimate with just around 6 tables and located just above Pino restaurant  (2nd floor) along Malingap St.

Interior is very simple but catchy, DIY and rustic always captivates me

M started off with a coffee and fries


I'm not in the mood to eat rice so I ordered something new, something hard for me to replicate at home, so I chose Kalabasa Arrabiata

It was kinda spicy for my taste, the kalabasa noodles was half cooked maybe so it was a bit crunchy 



Garlic noodles for M, a bit dry and bland, but at least you have option to add more as you like

When I saw my brother's order, I regret not ordering a rice :/

The three of us were already full there was no room for desserts.

We bought assorted cupcakes for take out, cookies and a slice of their chocolate cake that I forgot to take a photo. 


Some items on the menu are familiar Pinoy food that  are "easy to convert to vegan" 
They also indicated if it is GlutenFree ;)




I would like to come back here for more food inspiration.


PS: As I started my vegan journey, many ask if it is difficult. 
I actually find it easy maybe because I always remember why I started. 
But I also need a lot of inspiration so I followed a lot of vegan accounts on Instagram and it helps a lot. The good thing is, there are also now a lot of stores that offer vegan alternatives, from cakes to pizzas. 
I feel thankful to business owners who keep innovating and making their products accessible to vegans. 👍

Staycation at Acacia Alabang

We received an early christmas present = free one night stay @ Acacia Alabang :)

So one weekend, we got a chance to try this after we attended a kiddie party all the way from San Pablo.  
We had dinner somewhere in SLEX and arrived late that night.

I find the room is spacious for 2 







There are some food and drinks but we brought our own because we have a mission to watch some movies ;p
















Our room was on 3rd floor where the pool is located so the next morning we can hear the splash and buzz from the pool. 
We really don't mind but you may take note of this when making a reservation.




As we have started our Vegan lifestyle, we filled our plates with fruits and veggies for breakfast.



Also ordered this fresh fruit smoothies 




 refreshing breakfast, refreshing day :)

Holidays 2017

It's only been 2 months since M and I changed to a vegan lifestyle.

My family is very supportive with this and so allowed me to suggest what we will have for our Noche Buena ;p


Top: Vegan Lechon, Fried potatoes & cauliflower, Vegan Cheese, Vegan Tomato Spaghetti sauce, Pesto and Macaroni salad

I bought the Vegan Chevre Cheese from In a Nutshell. It pairs well with crackers.

I helped in preparing the pasta. Mom cooked the Tomato Spaghetti sauce with Tofu and Mushrooms while I am in charged of preparing the Pesto sauce.

For the Macaroni salad, we used 2 kinds of mayo- from Healthy Options and one from 
The Real Happy Cow


The Vegan Lechon kawali also comes from The Real Happy Cow and surprisingly tastes like the Lechon Kawali :)


For the New Year's media noche, we spent it with M's hometown.
I also brought Vegan Lechon, Vegan cheese and Glutenfree crackers from Healthy Options


And also this Mango Vinaigrette Salad dressings from Gourmet Farms when we went to Merkado Supermarket :)


2016 was the year we changed our lifestyle:

1. We no longer go to movie house. We just rent from GooglePlay, iTunes or Amazon.
That's 150 pesos versus 1k  (500 for the tickets and 500 food for the 2 of us)
2. We minimize eating out, less food trips.
3. The money we save from not going to movie dates and food trips? we donate it to animal welfare groups :) 
4. and it also means more budget for our rescued dog Boni 💓
5.  Going Vegan became easy for us because we were already eating less meat or being a pesco-ovo-vegetarian for a long time.
