Pioneer St. Market

My initial goal was to visit My Little Store's The Gourmet Pantry

I've been following their FB account for a while as they carry the products that I wanted to try.

Bottles of bangus belly, tuyo, different spreads and even a vegetarian lechon sauce!

love this coco water in a bottle

I bought my fave salad dressing from Whisk. I have blogged about this before:

and also tried this Made by Max almond butter in Cinnamon Vanilla

All-Natural :)

Another stall sells organic produce where we bought a tray of free range organic eggs for P12 each

Another stall, HomeGrown Organics also sells organic produce but for affordable price
I bought tomatoes, turmeric, lettuce, carrots for Php170+

Another stall where we bought Garlic bread and Ube-filled (P35) doughnuts :)

There are also other stalls that sells food items, ice cream and drinks that you can buy after shopping for your organic veggies.

The place is like a mini food court with tables and chairs in the middle.

There are also stall outside and some open bar too.

We no longer buy factory farmed eggs so M is willing to drive me back here :)

Pioneer St Market is located at the back of HMR, Pioneer Mandaluyong
Open from 11am-9pm every Sat and Sunday

August 2016: Life Lately

I was not able to update this space for a while.

Got very busy and all I wanna do on weekend is to do nothing ;p

One weekend, we drove to Laguna for sis-in-law and grandma-in-law(is there such a term?hehe) birthdays.

It was just a simple celebration over lunch in their new house.
For dessert, I've got to taste this Avocado ice cream for the first time and it is good. :)

After that we drove back to our house to celebrate my youngest bro 19th birthday
We bought Mernel's cake for him :)

I got a chance to eat a lot of sushi and maki for a colleagues birthday treat at yakimix :)

One weekend, we went to Salcedo Market.
I ordered Pinangat na Gabi in one of the stalls.
I just realize I love anything with gata :)

We also bought this Pili Butter :)
I used to love butter on pandesal but since we are staying away from dairy products, this is a good alternative.

At the last week of this month I got stomach flu and was not feeling well for almost a week.
Last month I have dry cough that lasted for weeks so my mom gave me Lagundi.
I guess my immune system got weak as I now wake up very early in the morning. :/

eto pala ang itsura ng lagundi :)

Ber months ahead :)

Chill's Cloth Pad

A few months ago, March, if I remember, my friend and I decided to try cloth pad.
We've read a lot of benefits of using cloth pads and also it is environment-friendly.
We searched online and discovered Chill. The price is reasonable so immediately placed our order. We got cloth pads for heavy flow, regular flow and pantyliners.
I also bought Human Nature's detergent powder so  I can wash it carefully.

At first, I only use it as a pantyliner. I thought it will be hassle to wash it with stains. So I still use napkins (Jeunesse during the day and Whisper Heavy flow at night).
I started using Chill's clothpads during my period when I was just at home and I was surprised that I don't feel pain/ dysmenorrhea. I always feel painful period during the first and second day so I tried using clothpads only on those days then back to Jeunesse during regular flow.
I felt the difference so I decided to order again.:)

10 Assorted Designs for Php999

with free foldable fan

Benefits of using Chill

I don't mind changing 4x during the day if I will have a bearable period. Human Nature detergent also makes it easy to wash it, just soaked for hours and the stains will be easy to remove. :)

Healthy Inspiration: 52 Healing Habits

52 Healing Habits Program of Bro Bo Sanchez

Remember when I posted about 52 Healing Habits last year here?
52 weeks have passed since then and finally, I finished learning all about these healthy habits compiled by Bo Sanchez.
Every week, I received an email, a few pages of explanation about it. Sometimes they also send an extra Happy Healing E-Magazine and an inspirational talk by Bo that you can listen to.

I already knew and practiced some of the habits and there are also habits that I knew but forgot to apply especially the proper food combination when eating.  There are also some new to me and I'm also skeptic on some.

But honestly, there are new habits that I find hard to incorporate like
why you should drink calamansi first thing in the morning and why eat fruits for breakfast.
After a year, I finally started doing these little by little and discovered how my body reacts.

Subscribing to 52 Healing Habits is a good way of reminding me to live a healthy life and teaching me ways to achieve it. It was like someone is gently checking on you every week if you are nourishing your soul and body. It's not only about what we feed our tummy but also what we feed our mind and soul.

If you are interested in learning the 52 Healing Habits, you can click here to subscribe.
First 2 months of subscription is free and there is a fee of P499/mo afterwards, You can opt to stop your subscription if you want.
But why pay, you may ask. It will help support Bo's foundations so I think of it as a donation.  (Honestly, I haven't been to any of his live talk/conference/preaching. But I do read his books and I like his beliefs pertaining to health, wealth and religion)
And also, if you are one of the people like me who tend to ignore healthy advice that are given for free, then paying for it will oblige you to follow. Heck I paid for it I might as well try it. ;p

PS: I also enjoyed reading GodWhispers everyday. Subscription is FREE.
Something inspirational to read in your email every morning.
Good vibes is healthy for us ^_^

Healthy Inspiration: May to July Healthy Eats

My last healthy inspiration post was last April so this post is a rewind from May to July

Champorado with Almond milk

the milk tastes a bit weird because it has a mix of coconut

Bangus Tinapa, from SM grocery

Tortang Talong

Kamote and omelet is a really good combination

My usual meals:

Black rice , Boiled Sayote and Carrots

Squash

Broccoli

Bokchoy

Ampalaya

Tinola for rainy days

Simple Salads

Avocado Shake

But because of the weather, I stopped preparing fruit shakes recently...

Bellpepper Sandwich

Egg Sandwich

Almonds, Dark Chocolate and Apple combos for afternoon treats ^_^
(This is my last bar of dark chocolate from Subic, we only bought 3 bars, should have both 12 ;p)

It is really helpful for me to document my eats for inspiration later on and to assess what I ate. Comparing this to my previous healthy inspiration post, I have few fruit intake and my salads looks like rabbit food. And I also observed that the weather affects my mood for food, my approach is just listen to my body and keep looking for healthy alternatives :)

Healthy Inspiration: February Healthy Eats

I wrote in my previous healthy inspiration blog post that I might be preparing soups for this month. But what I crave every cold morning of February was just a light meal  = a cup of coffee and toasted bread or pancakes.

My pancakes recipe consist only of just rye flour (from HealthyOptions), eggs, coco sugar and olive oil. One time I added matcha powder that was given to me. Imagine the many possibilities of adding matcha powder on cookies and bread hmmmmm.....

topped with flax seeds

I also enjoyed a lot of green smoothies - apples + lettuce. (making up for a lazy breakfast)

I always prepare my favorite adobong broccolli and also tried to adobo some ampalaya and labanos lolz
 Partnered with black rice.

in fairness masarap ang adobong labanos :)

Then maybe because of extending bedtime in the morning, I came up with the idea of boiling a batch of squash and add it to any meal as a side dish so I can still have a quick, easy, light and healthy lunch or dinner.

When I went to Laguna one weekend, I finally had some real nice home cooked meals :)

and also my father boiled some rootcrops for merienda

Nothing fancy, just nutritious food

My recent purchase at Sugarleaf, now I know where to buy organic eggs.
Actually same price in the mall but they are large in size  Php 150 for 15pcs :)

a very nice quote I found online :)

Stay healthy!
